How we calibrated the numbers
The base ranges come from Australian consultancy market rates (typically AU$140–$220/hr blended for senior teams) combined with our own historical scopes from 2024 to 2026. The multipliers for complexity, integrations and auth reflect consistent patterns we've seen across roughly 80 scoped engagements: integrations are the most common source of scope overrun, complex auth (SSO/SAML) is more expensive than people expect, and the gap between "simple" and "complex" complexity is genuinely 2–3x in real cost.
