Mobile App Development Brisbane

Native and cross-platform mobile apps built in Brisbane for Australian businesses. Field-service, clinics, retail, finance and tradie apps — including the offline-sync, payments, and integration plumbing that makes them actually useful in production.

Apps we build

  • Field-service apps for tradies — jobs, photos, signatures, offline sync, GPS routing
  • Clinic and allied-health apps — bookings, patient records, secure messaging
  • Retail and hospitality apps — loyalty, ordering, in-store payments, table service
  • Logistics and proof-of-delivery apps — barcode scanning, route optimisation
  • Finance and broker apps — secure document upload, biometric auth, e-signature
  • Internal staff apps — timesheets, leave, expense capture with receipt OCR

What's actually hard about mobile

The visible app is 30% of the work. The other 70% is the invisible plumbing: offline-first sync when your users are in basements or rural areas, push notifications that don't silently break six months after launch, biometric auth across iOS and Android variants, app store compliance when policies change, and OS upgrade churn every September when iOS ships its annual breaking changes.

Most cheap mobile builds skip this plumbing and look great in a demo. They start failing in production three months later when a tradie loses signal in a basement, or Apple rejects the next update because of a tightened privacy rule. We build the plumbing from day one — that's the gap between a $20k cosmetic build and a $50k production-grade app.

Our process

1. Discovery + clickable prototype (2 weeks)

We map every screen and the offline/online behaviour for each before writing code. You sign off on a clickable Figma prototype and a fixed-price quote.

2. Sprint 1 — running on a real device

By end of sprint 1 (week 4), the app is on your iPhone via TestFlight or your Android via Google Play Internal Track. From that point you're testing weekly, not waiting for a final demo.

3. App store submission + 30-day stabilisation

We handle Apple/Google submission and the App Review back-and-forth. First 30 days post-launch, bug fixes are on us.

Why Brisbane-local matters for mobile

Mobile bugs are timezone-sensitive. If a tradie in Toowoomba hits a sync issue at 7am on a Monday, an offshore team in a -12hr timezone won't respond until Tuesday morning local time. That's a full lost day on a job site. We're Brisbane-local — same business hours, fast triage.

Brisbane mobile app development FAQ

For 80% of Australian SMB mobile projects, React Native or Flutter cross-platform is the right call: one codebase ships to both stores at roughly 60% of the cost of two native builds, and modern cross-platform frameworks are indistinguishable from native for typical CRUD-style business apps. We recommend native (Swift/Kotlin) only when you need deep platform integration: ARKit, complex Bluetooth peripherals, advanced camera/ML on-device, or a games-grade graphics pipeline.
MVP for a single-role app (login, list, detail, form, push notifications) starts around AU$30,000 cross-platform or AU$50,000 native. A two-role app with backend, auth, payments and admin portal typically runs AU$60,000–$120,000. App-store submission, certificates and listing setup are included. Ongoing maintenance is roughly 15–20% of build cost per year for OS updates and store-policy changes.
Yes — we handle the entire submission process including Apple Developer enrolment ($149/yr, paid by you), Google Play registration (one-time $25), screenshots, store copy, age ratings, privacy policy, and the back-and-forth with App Review. First-time submission rejections are common and normal — we manage that loop until your app is live.
Most of the apps we build for tradies, field teams and clinics work fully offline-first because internet on a job site or in a basement clinic isn't reliable. We use local SQLite or WatermelonDB with a sync layer — users keep working, and changes sync when connectivity returns. This is genuinely hard to get right; it's one of our specialties.
Yes. We've integrated with Xero, MYOB, ServiceM8, simPRO, Cliniko, Halaxy, HubSpot, Salesforce, Stripe, Square, and bespoke SOAP/REST APIs. If your system has a documented API or even a usable export, we can integrate. If it doesn't, we'll tell you upfront and suggest alternatives.
Discovery: 2 weeks. MVP build: 10–16 weeks for most projects. App store review adds 1–2 weeks after build complete. We ship in 2-week sprints with TestFlight/Internal Track builds you can put on real devices from sprint 2 onwards — no waiting until the end to see the app working on a phone.
